Our Approach
A Place Where Dogs Can Relax, Play, and Feel at Home
Hawthorne Pet Den’s approach is rooted in the belief that every dog deserves personal attention and a customized experience. We go beyond basic care by offering at least 10 exercise and potty breaks each day, which is double what many competitors provide. Our system groups dogs based on energy level and personality, so energetic dogs get plenty of playtime while more reserved or elderly dogs can relax with fellow quiet companions. For multi-dog households, we always board families together to prevent loneliness and anxiety. We also understand our guests' health needs, so we never charge extra for administering medications or handling special diets, including raw feeding. Our staff is vigilant about safety, requiring up-to-date vaccinations (DHLPP, Rabies, Bordetella) and maintaining a locked front entrance for secure drop-off and pick-up. With on-site refrigeration for special diets and daily cleaning of blankets and bowls, we prioritize hygiene and comfort. For added peace of mind, our location is just a couple of minutes from Alpine Veterinarian, ensuring a quick response in emergencies.
What Sets Us Apart
Breed-Inclusive, No-Guilt Boarding and Daycare for Pocatello
At Hawthorne Pet Den, we believe no dog should be turned away because of breed or special needs. Our breed-inclusive policy welcomes all, including breeds often excluded by large corporate facilities such as Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Great Danes. We are known for our open, honest communication and the 'Doggy Report Card' system that updates you on your pet’s eating habits, playtime, and medication. Our daycare is designed for flexibility, ideal for nurses, lawyers, morticians, ISU students, and anyone with an unpredictable schedule. We focus on creating a fun atmosphere where dogs leave happy and tired, helping to relieve owner guilt about leaving pets behind. While our services are dog-focused, we do offer feline grooming by appointment (please call for details). Our reputation for compassion, honesty, and reliability is why so many Pocatello pet owners have trusted us for years. Our facility is bright, clean, and comfortable, and every policy and practice is designed with your pet’s emotional well-being in mind.
